    • Main Examination: The Main Examination is the CSE exam’s second phase. There is nine papers total, and two of them, English Language and Indian Language, are qualifying papers. (chosen from a list of 22 languages). The final seven essays are descriptive in style and cover subjects like Indian Politics, Economy, History, Geography, Ethics, Technology, and Internal Security. A total of 1750 points are awarded for the Main Examination.
    • Interview and Personality Test: The Personality Test/Interview is the last part of the CSE exam. It entails a face-to-face interview with a group of professionals who assess the applicants’ personalities, communication abilities, and general eligibility for a job in public services. A total of 275 points are awarded for the personality test and interview.

    Aspirants must pass each of the three examinations—the preliminary exam, the main examination, and the personality test/interview—to be eligible to take the CSE exam. Performance in the Main Examination and the Personality Test/Interview of the candidates will determine who will be chosen in the end.
